Assistance to Disabled persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP Scheme)
The main objective of the Scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons in procuring durable sophisticated and scientifically manufactured , modern, standard aids and appliances that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation, by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhance their economic potential

Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme to Promote Voluntary Action for Persons with Disabilities (DDRS Scheme)
The facilitate delivery of various services to persons with disabilities by voluntary organizations, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is administering DDRS scheme and providing grants-in-aid to NGOs for the projects related to
Vocational Training Centre.
Sheltered Workshops.
Special Schools for the Persons with Disabilities.
Project for Cerebral Palsied Children.
Project for Pre-School and Early Intervention and Training.
Home based Rehabilitation Program/Home Management Programme.
Project for Rehabilitation of Leprosy Cured Persons ( LCPs) .
Project relating to Survey, Identification, Awareness and Sensitization .
Project for Community Based Rehabilitation .
Project for Human Resource Development .
Seminars/Workshops/Rural Camps .
Project for, Legal Legal Aid and Analysis and Evaluation of Existing Laws .
Environment Friendly and Eco-Promotive Projects for the Handicapped .
Grant for Purchase of vehicle .
Construction of Building .
Grant for computer.
Project for Low Vision Centres.
Half Way Home for Psycho-Social Rehabilitation of treated and Controlled Mentally Persons .
District Disability Rehabilitation Centres (DDRCs) The maximum level of support could be up to 90% of the eligible amount of grant for the project.
Scheme of National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities .
Empowerment of persons with disabilities is an interdisciplinary process, covering various aspects namely, prevention, early detection, intervention, education, vocational training , rehabilitation and social integration etc.
In order to recognize their effort and encourage others to strive to achieve excellence in this field . separate awards are being presented to the most efficient/outstanding employees with disabilities, best employers, best placement agency/officer, outstanding individuals, outstanding institutions, role models. outstanding creative disabled individuals and adaptation of innovation to provide cost effective technology .
Scheme of Integrated Education for the Disabled Children .
Mentally handicapped-educable group (IQ 50-70) children are covered under this scheme.
The handicapped children are provided the following allowances and facilities under this scheme :
Books and stationery allowance of Rs.400/- per annum.
Uniform allowance of Rs.50/- per annum.
Transport allowance of Rs.50/- per month ( if a disabled child admitted under the scheme resides in a hostel of the school within the school premises, no transportation charges would be admissible).
Actual cost of equipment subject to a maximum of Rs.2,000/- per student for a period of five years.
Disabled children residing in school hostels within the same institution where they are studying may also be paid boarding & lodging charges as admissible under the State Govt. Rules/Schemes. Where there is no State Scheme of Scholarships to hostellers, the disabled children , whose parents income does not exceed Rs.3,000/- per month, may be paid actual boarding & lodging charges subject to a maximum of Rs.200/- p. m .
In a school in rural areas where at least 10 handicapped children are enrolled, capital cost for purchase of school rickshaw for free use of these children and expenses for Rickshaw Puller Rs.300/- p. m will be provided under the scheme. In such cases, no transport allowance will be payable to the students .
