ADIP SCHEME
(Modified vide Lr No.4-186/2004-DD-I(NGO) dated 19th May, 2005)
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons in procuring durable, modern, standard aids & appliances that can promote their physical social and psychological Rehabilitation by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhance their economic potential
CONCESSIONS
1. AIDS & APPLIANCES
a) OH ( Tricycles, Wheel Chairs, Crutches etc.)
b) HH ( Hearing Aids, alarming devices, Tape recorders, CD Players etc.)
c) VH ( Braille equipment, Arithmetic, Tape Recorders, CD Players, Low Vision aids)
d) MH ( any suitable device as advised by the Rehab. Professional or treating physician)
Note: Aid/appliances should not cost more than Rs.6,000. For Multiple disabled the limit is applied to individual items and where more than one aid is prescribed the ceiling shall apply separately.
The aids & appliances supplied under the scheme must be ISI
2. SURGICAL CORRECTIONS
a) Rs.3,000 for OH
b) Rs. 500 for HH
c) Rs.1,000 for VH
3. TRAVEL EXPENSES
Bus fare/second class sleeper by rail subject a limit of Rs.250 per beneficiary paid irrespective of no of visits to the centre. If certified by a doctor/Rehab. Professional about the need of accompanying by an escort/attendant, travel expenses subject to the same limit will also be paid to the escort /attendant.
4. BOARDING AND LODGING EXPENSES
For those patients whose total income is up to Rs.6,500 p.m., boarding and lodging expenses @ Rs.30 per day for a maximum duration of 15 days would be admissible.
5. SCOPE
Use of mass media, exhibitions, workshops etc. for exchange of information and promoting awareness and distribution and use of aids/appliances is covered under ADIP scheme.
6. ELIGIBILITY
a) Indian citizen of any age
b) Should be certified by a registered medical practitioner that he/she is disabled and fit to use the prescribed aid/appliance
c) The monthly income of the beneficiary/parent/guardian/should not exceed Rs.10,000 per month
d) Should not have received assistance from any other agency (Govt./local bodies/NOGOs during the last three years for the same purpose). However for children below 12 years of age this limit is one year.
e) The full cost of aid/appliance if income is up to Rs.6,500 p.m.
50% of the cost of aid/appliance if income is Rs.6,501 to Rs.10,000 p.m.
